Specio's nitrite strips have been tested in four aquaculture pilots in Scotland, Norway and Portugal. At each site, results from the handheld were compared with the Griess laboratory method, the established reference method for nitrite. The results agreed closely across fresh and marine systems.
For fish farmers, nitrite is one of the earliest warning signs that a biofilter is struggling. Knowing it on site, in minutes, means acting the same day instead of waiting for lab results. Validation data is available on request.
